Are you concerned about your child? Perhaps he or she has been acting upset, withdrawn, or differently? Perhaps your family situation has changed, such as moving, parents separating, the loss of a loved one or close friend, or some other major change? Or perhaps your child is being bullied or facing other difficulties at school?

You've tried your best with everything you can think of, but if you are feeling unsure, Positive Methods in Norco can help with your little one. We are here to help you and your child, as parental involvement is critical to the success of your child’s improvement. You will learn to support your child and communicate effectively. Sessions with parents may be with or without the child and vary in the number necessary. Positive Methods will also have one-on-one sessions with your child.

Play Therapy

Play therapy is a method to help younger child and the Positive Methods therapist communicate. Play allows your child to utilize play to express their emotions, experiences and needs since verbalization may be a challenge for young children. Toys, sand trays, art, and dramatic play may be used.

Common Diagnoses

Some common disorders Positive Methods therapists have worked with children on are Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Anxiety, Depression, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.

Positive Methods offers therapy specifically designed for younger clients with emotional and social difficulties. Therapy teaches children specific skills in communication, cooperation, and emotional regulation in a safe, judgment-free environment. Kids who engage in therapy can learn to overcome difficulties, work better with others, and regain a sense of confidence and control.
