DIANA FRANCO
M.S. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #112840
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor #8781
Welcome to your first step in making a change in your life. Listening to that voice within is often the most difficult part of the healing journey but finding someone to guide you can be a daunting task. I am a firm believer that you are the expert of your life and that you have all the answers to your questions. My role is to help unpack negative thought patterns, behaviors, and experiences that are blocking your voice from being validated. My foundational training is in person centered therapy in which I provide a non-judgmental space for you to express yourself and for me to fully understand your journey so far. There is constant collaboration with you to ensure that you are receiving what you need to meet your goals. Treatment is uniquely structured, and I pull interventions from various approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, solution-focused, and mindfulness. Another focus is integrating the mind and body, by utilizing breathing exercises and physical movement. It would be a privilege to join you whenever you are ready to take your next steps into your journey.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist (LMFT #112840) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC #8781). I have 10 years of experience working with culturally and socioeconomically diverse populations. I have worked in the non-profit sector as a case manager and independent living skills instructor, and for the past five years I have been developing as a mental health therapist. The bulk of my experience had been providing crisis intervention with high-risk children and teens, and working with children and families in the foster care system. I gained experience working with complex trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, domestic violence, parenting, adjustment, and attachment difficulties. I am certified in California as a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapist. Recently I have become interested in perinatal mental health and will be pursuing more training in that area.
I am a Spanish speaking first generation American with parents who immigrated from San Luis Potosí, Mexico, and I grew up in Santa Ana, California. I graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a Master of Science in Counseling. I enjoy spending time with my husband and playing with my daughter, who is my anchor to the present moment. In my free time you can find me reading, tending to my patio garden, or out on a walk.
